“Story, as it turns out, was crucial to our evolution - more so than opposable thumbs. Opposable thumbs let us hang on; story told us what to hang on to.” - Lisa Cron

ABOUT ME

My love of storytelling began on stage as a young actor and in the weekly trips I took to my local cinema. I moved into the music industry as a songwriter, singer and drummer, spending so much of my time on the road writing stories and poems in my notebooks. In 2010 I did an MA in Screenwriting and found that my greatest passion lay in this form of storytelling. I am primarily focused on drama and adaptations of true stories and literature. My first screenplay, ACROSS THE LINE tells the story of my great grandfather’s bravery at the Isle of Man TT and during the first world war as a despatch rider. It will be directed by Francis Annan (Escape From Pretoria) and starts shooting in 2024. I’m currently developing a screenplay with NKD films and Bay Horse Pictures about POW Frank Williams and his time on the Sumatra Railway as well as a screenplay about Norah Gordon Cleather, the first woman to run Wimbledon and keep its spirit alive throughout WW2. JUSTINE was my first feature as a producer and was nominated for a BIFA in 2020. I also lecture in Screenwriting and Producing at Birmingham Screen and Film School.
